I’m Only Here For The Beard by Lani Lynn Vale

The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC Series Book 4

MC Romance

Sean is a man with needs—needs that a lot of women were ready and willing to fulfill. Yet, the only woman that he wants to fulfill them dumped him for another man. A man who’s a member of his MC and is someone he has to see every single day and twice on Sundays.

He’s bitter and angry. He’s definitely not in the right frame of mind when it comes to dealing with women. Which is unfortunate for his new partner, Naomi, a fresh-out-of-school and totally green paramedic.

Naomi’s got enough problems on her plate. A brother who’s self-destructive and doesn’t care who he takes down with him. A man who she’s in love with but who doesn’t love her. A job that she hates because it is a constant reminder of what she can’t have.

Desperate to distance herself from her problems, she runs, taking the first job in her field that she finds willing to take on someone with so little experience.

The last thing she needs is a perpetually pissed off partner, especially when he sets her blood on fire.

But life doesn’t ask how much you can handle when it dishes out challenges. It just keeps piling them on until you’ve bested them or you’ve buckled under them.

Sean really doesn’t want to like his new partner, Naomi. He just wants to be left alone to live his life however he damn well pleases and without complications.

Naomi doesn’t care what he wants, she can’t be anything but herself. It isn’t long before she’s breaking down his walls and making him feel again. She’s trying to pull him closer and he’s pushing her away.

It’s not long before Sean sees the error of his ways.

It’s too bad, though, that by the time he realizes she’s the one, Naomi’s already gone.

Robin’s Thoughts

This is my second book my Ms. Vale in this series and I loved this one as much as I did the previous one (link to Fear the Beard Review at the end of this post).  Ms. Vale doesn’t disappoint on this book as it hooks you from the beginning as look at the title and laugh really I’m Am Only Hear For the Beard . . . you can not imagine where this story is going to go from that..

This MC series is not as dark as some others and is a wonderful afternoon read.  You will laugh and want to choke both of the main characters for their choices.  I promise on that one.  But you can then take a step back and think wait I have been there before and I know how that hurts  The background stories are well woven into the new story as you join the Dixie Wardens Rejects again.  More Bonus points for Ms. Vale.

Naomi has serious problems and life changing issues and when she finally makes that decision to put herself first I wanted to just cheer out loud. A brother that just needs a wake up call so sad that it comes at a serious cost to his sister. She decides to move a choice that is hard but once she makes it she stays strong and stands by her choices.

Sean is bitter and angry at life and love determined to not let it anywhere close to him.  Living having to watch his ex be with a brother in his club has him on edge and not in the right frame of mind as he then gets assigned a new paramedic.

The chemistry is steamy and off the charts in this one.  The mystery thrown in as you are following along this story is so skillfullly woven that all the sudden you are  like what? Why? HOW did that happen?  I even flipped back going did I miss something.  Ms. Vale kept intertwining several stories (Can I PLEASE have Ghost?) and not having an issues with chaos or confusion.  You will cheer and cry as these two live learn to really love and lose.  (Yeah grab a few tissues you might need them at several points) I love this series and will look for more to join them again.   The multiple plots and characters lead you to believe that this will be a very interesting world Ms. Vale is leading us into and I hope for many new books to keep us all happy. *Sign me up!! Sign me up!!* So grab you a fire extinguisher and a nice quiet place to read this hot steamy romance.  I promise you will not put it down till you finish every word!

The hardworking men in this book grabbed me by the heart and willing climbed on the back of their bikes for the exciting ride. *Rushing off to find more of Ms. Vale’s books to read*

Favorite quotes

The woman might get on every single nerve I had, and eat my last goddamned cookie, but I loved the absolute shit out of her.

“You’re all I ever think about.  It’s like you’re some fucking disease, like the goddamn clap, that won’t go away!”

5 HEARTS!
