Hide Your Crazy by Lani Lynn Vale Review

I’m kind of a lady, but definitely more of a weirdo.

Hearing the woman at the table behind him say that to her friend should’ve turned Logan Gibbs off.

It doesn’t. In all honesty, it only makes him listen harder.

He’s had enough weird in his life to last a lifetime. The last thing his complicated life needs is a woman in it who has no clue what color you get when you mix yellow and blue together.

Yet, her obvious blonde moments aren’t enough to deter him. Nor is her lack of finger-painting skills.

I’m a cop, not a miracle worker.

Hearing the man in the group behind her say that should’ve had Katy Roberts running away as fast as her feet would carry her. Katy’s father’s a cop, and it’s hard enough to live her life with Daddy trying to dictate her every move. She needs another cop in her life like she needs yet another thing to go wrong.

To add onto that, she can’t find a job, has no love life to speak of, and has to be the oldest known virgin in Kilgore, Texas.

Yet, when she sees his painting—a painting that resembles a piece of the male anatomy more than the lighthouse they were supposed to be painting—she knows that she has to give him a chance.

The very last thing the two of them expect is for her father and his boss to force them to marry after an eensy-weensy accident. An accident that, surprisingly, both of them want.

Robin’s Thoughts

So this was my 3rd book by Ms. Vale and I was delightfully surprised. The cover was what grabbed my attention (doesn’t it yours yep those are nice handcuffs aren’t they)? This is book 1 in a new series KPD Motorcycle Patrol so hopefully we will be revisiting these characters in further books in the series. This was my first cop romance in a long while and I was happy to be surprised on how much I liked this story. I started this story on a Sunday afternoon and it was a quick read only 250 pages (about 3 hours read time) and with the fast pace of Ms. Vale’s writing you are flying along on this adventure where you are trying very hard to predict where Ms. Vale is going to take you.

Logan Gibbs is a cop that has been moved around to a different department (motorcycles is all I will say) in the Kilgore Police Department due to previous actions that he may or may not have done. By the end of the story you are just ready to shelter him from the world that has wronged him on so many levels.

Katerina “Katy” Roberts is a lovable character and kept most of the story flowing and helps introduce lots of characters that could lead into a large series of lovable characters. Two surprising canines (those two could have caused a few more fun times) and I love simply because I have a German Shepard mom too.

I am trying not to spoil any of the surprising plot points in this book and I find it hard which is making this review a little short.  This is an excellent book to read on an afternoon and I highly suggest if you want a story that can be read in a single sitting pick this up! Quickly!!

My only complaint on this was that it was so short of a story.  I thought the story could have been double as long but that is my wishes for long detailed stories that take me days to read.  Ms. Vale does not have anything missing from this I just didn’t want it to end.  I loved all the characters most especially Kilgore’s Police Chief (prequel of his story please Ms. Vale)…ha ha you have to read to find out how he fits into the story. Pacing in the story was believable and you are able to follow all the story lines that look to be leading into further books in this new series.

So I highly *you hear me that means go out and one click this on amazon now so you will have reading material for this weekend* recommend this book as I myself will be stalking Ms. Vale’s site for other reading material and I am lucky enough to have a beach vacation coming up and will be filling up my kindle with reading material. WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE? Click the book cover below and go have a wonderful evening with Katy, Logan, Sister and Lou!
