Raphael by D.B. Reynolds

Vampires in America Book #1

First off I am not sure how this series never crossed my path before I found this one while surfing Amazon looking for steals.  This one is for only $.99 right now.  I will say that I was hooked from the first chapter of this 214 page roller coaster ride.  I am grumbling because I can’t believe I missed this series for so long as it was originally published in 2009 *racking my brain to remember what I was doing then*  Anyway, you must read this book.  I was hiding from children and family in different rooms of my house to just read one more page closer to the end of the book.  I almost cried when my Kindle’s battery message flashed at me with 2 chapters left and I read the rest sitting on the floor with my Kindle plugged into the wall.

Set in Malibu, California home to rock-and-roll gods and the beautiful, the rich, and the famous hidden are the vampires.  With a vampire dusting, to kidnapping, power plays, steamy take a shower break romance scenes and just a dash of humor to rescue your e-reader from your death grip as you follow Raphael and Cyn’s adventure.  I guarantee you will be hooked from the first page.

Raphael is the dark, mysterious vampire Lord that you just want to wrap your arms around and hold on no matter how much he struggles to escape.  Cyn is a female protagonist who is more than willing to save herself.  This book is full of ruthless vampires a hidden society right under the human populations noses.  You will begin to care about all the characters in this book from Duncan on down.  There are twists and turns all throughout this novel and even on the last page I was looking at my Kindle going NO NO NO there must be one more chapter it can’t end there.  I highly recommend this book and maybe the complete series. (I will be reading the rest of the series as soon as I can get my hands on them!)

I will quit now and not give any spoilers.  Contact me if you want some or just to chat about the book at Robin@mygoldenreads.com I look forward to reading the rest of the series and may need some new friends to gush about this series to.
